One of the rewarding things about putting up photos onto a site like flickr is that sometimes someone will ask to reproduce one in an article or if I'm really fortunate a printed publication. As long as I'm asked, and it's not for a blatantly commercial reason (like the guy who wanted a photo of mine to help promote his tour guide business but didn't want to give me anything in return) I'm usually happy to oblige.

This morning I awoke to a message from Marija at womenstennisblog letting me know that a photo I took of Serena Williams at the 2006 Australian Open has been included in an article on her site. We have this nice little agreement...Marija has ongoing permission to use my tennis images and she just lets me know when she does :-)

Taken with my old Olympus C770 10x compact four years ago here it is today at:

Serena Williams

Taking photos at sporting events is a great photographic challenge and if you can nail some decent shots and put them out onto the 'big net world' the rewards can be fun.

As always Marija pleased you could use the shot :-)

  1. Hey Mark,

Glad to see you have a new photography blog. Hehe thanks for mentioning our little cooperation. :) I agree, Flickr is cool, I've established really nice relationships with a few photographers thanks to Flickr and my readers get to see wonderful and unique photos on my blog. Actually, some readers have especially praised the photos I use on Women's Tennis Blog.

I hope you're planning to visit some women's tennis tournament in the near future. ;)

    Best wishes,

    Marija
